Phillip Van Den Bossche has been appointed Curator of the third edition of the Triennial for Contemporary Art by the Sea. He succeeded Willy Van den Bussche who besides shouldering responsibility for the two previous editions, is also the spiritual father of the coastal art project.
At the beginning of 2007 Phillip Van den Bossche was appointed Director-Curator of the PMMK, the Provincial Museum for Modern Art in Ostend and the PMCP, the Provincial Museum Constant Permeke. At the same time he was appointed Curator of Beaufort 03. Born in Flemish Brabant in1969, Phillip Van Den Bossche studied Art Theory at the Rijksuniversiteit Ghent before moving to the Netherlands. There he followed an international course for exhibition-makers, modern and contemporary art at Stichting De Appel in Amsterdam, where he also worked for a while. It was eleven years before he returned to Belgium for good. He spent the last seven of those years as Curator of the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven.
